crosscountry skiing copper mountain coloradoCopper Mountain and Summit County hit the snow jackpot again this weekend, with a moist northwest flow delivering a steady stream of frozen precipitation forecast to add up to more than a foot of new snow by Tuesday — the powder is piling up around our Copper Mountain vacation rentals!

The forecast for Thanksgiving is for clear skies and seasonal temperatures, with highs in the 20s and lows down near zero, so bundle up for that apres ski stroll. And along with the turkey, skiers and snowboarders will be able to feast on plenty of fresh terrain and powder during one of the best early seasons in recent memory.

So far the resort has opened more than 300 acres served by seven lifts, and more runs are likely to open the next few days. Keep tabs on the Copper snow report here. For the month, Copper has picked up 53 inches of snow.

On and off snow is expected through Monday night, making for tricky travel conditions across the Colorado high country. Winter storm watches and warnings are in effect through Monday night. Be sure you're ready for winter driving.

The great early season snow has also enabled local crosscountry ski areas to open most of their trails, and other winter activities, like dogsled tours and snowmobiling, are also in full operation. Get more info on winter activities in this blog post.

Even with the good snow, we're offering great early season rates at our Copper Mountain vaction lodging, so visit our rentals page to find the perfect Colorado getaway condo rental!
