A Ski Condo at the Heart and Soul of Copper Mountain

March 15, 2014

Copper Mountain vacation rentalsCopper Junction may not be the shiniest, newest lodge at Copper Mountain, but oh, the memories! The grand old slopeside building went up during the early heyday of the then-new resort and it's been at the heart and soul of Copper ever since.

Even today, you'll still see ski instructors going in and out of their "secret" room on the ground level, and when it's quiet at night, listen for the echoes of raucous Club Med-era parties still ringing in the walls. If you meet an old-time in the hall, say hi — it could be one of the original investor-owners of the condominium building.

Our two-bedroom Copper Junction 201 condo is a perfect pad for wanna-be ski bums. Even if you can't take a year off to play in the mountains, this roomy apartment will let feel what it's like to sip your morning coffee while watching the lifts start to roll. The huge glassed-in deck is perfect for apres-ski. You won't miss a minute of the action in the Burning Stones Plaza, so kick you feet up and enjoy the sunset. if you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of Copper's fire jugglers, and if you do go out, it's just a few steps to some of Copper's favorite spots, including Jack's and Endo's.

We know that many of our guests stay at Copper Junction condos because they like to cook their own meals. One recent group brought their own fresh seafood from New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras at Copper, and they had plenty of room to store their food, along with all the pots, pans and utensils they needed for cooking. The open floorplan of the kitchen-dining-living area means the cook is always part of the crowd, and everyone can watch the game on the large flatscreen TV in the living room.

This roomy condo sleeps eight, so it's great to have an extra full bathroom in the hallway, along with a full bath in each bedroom, so there's never a wait for the shower. And even though the rootsy skiing vibe of the 70s lives on in this great condo, we've updated it with some modern touches that even a hardcore ski patroller would appreciate, including granite kitchen counters and a gas fireplace.

Highlights of this condo are:

  • The best ski-in, ski-out location at Copper
  • Amazing mountain views
  • Three bathrooms - all with showers and two with bathtubs
  • Hair dryers in all bathrooms
  • Free WiFi
  • Flat screen TV and DVD player in the living room, TVs in both bedrooms
  • Gas fireplace
  • Convenient elevator from parking area or lobby to your condo
  • Alcove with bench in the entryway for all of your winter layers
  • Laundry room in the building
  • Free parking under the building and free overflow parking next door
  • Heated ski locker room on the ground level

The free resort shuttle stops are right in front of the Copper Junction building. You can ride free to any of the villages on Copper Mountain. Copper Mountain is located in the heart of Colorado ski country. Vail, Breckenridge, and Keystone are all 20 minutes away. Arapahoe Basin and Loveland are just 25 minutes away. Beaver Creek and Ski Cooper are 30 minutes away. And Winter Park, Steamboat Springs and Monarch are only 90 minutes away.
