Happy Winter Solstice 2013!

If these short days and long nights have been getting you down, don't worry — it's the winter solstice, and starting tomorrow, Dec. 22, the sun will once again start moving northward in the sky. The days will gradually lengthen toward spring, officially marked by the vernal equinox (around March 21) when day and night are equal length, and finally, the summer solstice (June 21) when the cycle starts again.

Ski and Snowboard Stars Want to Keep Winters Cool

Some ski and snowboard stars like Gretchen Bleiler and Jeremy Jones see global warming as a very real threat. They have been experiencing the impacts first-hand for years and as part of the Protect Our Winters campaign, the athletes have taken their action-oriented message from the halls of Congress to the auditoriums at schools around the country.
