Copper Mountain says Namaste!

Copper Mountain, Colorado —The Mountain Pose Yoga Festival starts today with a welcome address by renowned yoga leader Rodney Yee at 6 p.m. and continues with a plethora of yoga classes and lectures, free music performances, art exhibits, vendors, and the festival bookstore, in addition to Copper’s many resort activities.

With several pass options available, participants are welcome to join for a single class, single day, or full weekend of classes and lectures. Free childcare is available for everyone participating — when making reservations simply ask the reservations agent to transfer you to the Belly Button Bakery childcare at ext. 38101.

Classes and Lectures: Healthcare professionals and yogis, from novice to advanced, will enjoy the 40+ classes and lectures available, including unique mountain-top sessions and yoga mingled with wine tastings. For sample programs designed for those looking to receive Continuing Medical Education credits, enjoy Yoga for Beginners, Yoga for Athletes and many more. All of the sample sessions are listed here.

Free Live Music: Free outdoor concerts each day by Wah!, Mirabai Ceiba, and Satkirin Kaur Khalsa Kirtan. See the full schedule for performance times.

Art Exhibits: Artists include Peggy Dyer, Elle Potter, Laurie Maves and a hands-on Creation Station, which will offer simple take-away printmaking and drawing activities for conference-goers and community participants.

Vendors and the Festival Bookstore: The vendor expo will feature vendors selling yoga mats, clothing, jewelry and more! Located in Guest Services, in Copper Sports Center Village, the festival bookstore will be the place to pick up books, CDs and DVDs from this year’s festival talent, as well as artwork from festival artist Laurie Maves.
