Tourism officials are recognizing that pilgrimages and spiritual routes are taking on a growing importance, so the UN's World Tourism Organization recently joined with partners in Spain to organize the First International Congress on Tourism and Pilgrimages, held Sept. 17-20 in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

For the 2014/15 season, the Gems Card program features two-for-one lift tickets at eight signature Colorado Gems ski resorts and exclusive Flash Deal promotions offered at Gems resorts throughout the season. Each Gems Card is good for one use per Gems resort, per season, and only a limited number of Gems Cards are available for sale.

30,000-year-old cave art added to World Heritage list

The Piedmont wine landscape of Italy, the Himalayan National Park Conservation Area and 20,000-year-old cave paintings in France were all added to the ever-growing list of world heritage sites this year, gaining well-deserved recognition for their universal cultural, natural and historic values.
