Snow Sport Retailers are Rockin!
Sales of action cameras, backcountry gear and women's specific crosscountry gear helped propel the snowsports industry to record sales during the first half of the season, according to a press release from SnowSports Industries America. The mid-season report covers sales between Aug. 1 and Dec. 31.

Is This Winter’s Colorado Snowfall Setting Records?
After a pair of powerful Pacific storms punched through the Colorado Rockies in late January and early February, some locals are asking if snowfall is on a record-setting pace for the season. So far, seasonal totals are well above average, with 231 inches to-date at Copper Mountain, but still below all-time Summit County snowfall records. But January's snowfall was nothing to sneeze at, according to veteran Breckenridge weather-watcher Rick Bly, who has been tracking precipitation for the National Weather Service in his backyard for several decades.

February is “Bring a Friend” month at Copper Mountain
Although Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month is over, the snow sports industry now is encouraging those who already are involved to “Bring a Friend in February” when days are a little longer and temperatures are a bit warmer. Snow conditions throughout the U.S. are consistent from coast to coast thanks to snowfall in most parts of the country where ski and snowboard resorts are located. The industry’s Bring a Friend Challenge rewards those who do so with prizes ranging from skis and snowboards to trips.

Good News from the Snow Sports Industry!
The snow sports retail market had a record holiday selling season, but severe drought in the Sierra and Cascade mountain ranges tempered the celebration. Sales reached a new record $2.2 billion season to date (August to December).

Copper Mountain: It Doesn’t Get Any Better!
Last week's weather lived up to the forecast, delivering near-record amounts of snow to Copper Mountain and the rest of the Colorado high country. Copper reported 31 inches for a storm total and 36 inches the past week, bringing season to-date snowfall to 202 inches.
