Happy Thanksgiving – Copper Mountain’s November Snowpack is Above Average!
In a welcome change from last winter's early season snow drought, weather watchers say this year's Colorado snowpack is above average statewide. In the Colorado River Basin, where most of Colorado's big ski areas are located, the snowpack is anywhere from 120 percent to 140 percent of average for late November.

Weekend Freshies at Copper Mountain? Anyone?!
After a bit of a November thaw, with gorgeous fall days, winter is creeping back into the Copper Mountain weather forecast. According to the National Weather Service, storminess will build the second half of the week, culminating with a weather system that could drop up to 6 inches of snow across the Colorado mountains.

With another autumn snowstorm set to sweep through the Colorado Rockies, several ski area operators around Summit County are targeting mid-October opening dates. Loveland, Arapahoe Basin and Copper Mountain have all started snowmaking operations, so the ski and snowboard season will be here sooner rather than later.

Copper Mountain gets an autumn dusting of snow
Colorado ski resorts are abuzz with the first significant snowfall of the season, and some areas are hinting that snowmaking could start soon. The snow was generated by a strong storm out of the Pacific Northwest moving across the Rockies in a winter-like pattern, and there could be more snow on the way.
