Happy Thanksgiving – Copper Mountain’s November Snowpack is Above Average!
In a welcome change from last winter's early season snow drought, weather watchers say this year's Colorado snowpack is above average statewide. In the Colorado River Basin, where most of Colorado's big ski areas are located, the snowpack is anywhere from 120 percent to 140 percent of average for late November.

How “Green” is Your Ski Area?
Copper Mountain Resort in Colorado received a "B" grade in the annual ski area environmental scorecard, which this year highlights the trend of resorts producing their own renewable energy. Copper has plans to install two 24-foot vertical wind turbines on Union Peak to generate about 2,000 kilowatt hours per year. The proposed wind turbines will add renewable energy capacity generated by existing turbines installed in 2011.

A Foot of Fresh and More Snow on the Way at Copper Mountain!
Just as we promised last week, fresh snow piled up at Copper Mountain Friday night through Sunday morning, with early season skiers enjoying some great November powder over the weekend. Copper Mountain reported 5 inches of snow Saturday morning, with another 7 inches on Sunday.
